Community guidelines

How we run together.

Trybe is built on the belief that running communities are one of the most genuinely welcoming spaces in sport. These guidelines exist to keep it that way.

Overview

The short version

Trybe is a platform for runners to find each other and run together. The community works because the people in it treat each other with genuine warmth and respect. These guidelines describe what that looks like in practice — and what happens when it doesn't.

These rules apply to everyone on Trybe: individual runners, club organizers, and event hosts. By using the platform, you agree to these guidelines in addition to our Terms of Service.

01 — Core principles

What Trybe stands for

We encourage
Welcoming runners of every pace and background
Honest, accurate club and event listings
Constructive feedback and genuine reviews
Supporting newcomers and first-timers
Respecting people's time and commitment
We don't allow
Harassment, bullying, or personal attacks
Discrimination based on pace, gender, race, or ability
Fake listings or misleading information
Spam, unsolicited promotion, or commercial abuse
Sharing others' personal information without consent
02 — Behaviour

How to treat each other

Running is one of the few places where a 6-minute miler and a 12-minute miler can genuinely enjoy the same run. That equality of experience is what makes running communities different. Trybe is built to protect that.

Every runner on Trybe deserves to feel safe, welcome, and respected — regardless of their pace, age, body, gender, race, sexuality, or experience level. Behaviour that makes someone feel unwelcome, unsafe, or excluded will be removed.

If you wouldn't say it to someone at the start of a race, don't say it on Trybe. The same warmth and encouragement that defines running communities should define how we all interact on the platform.

03 — Organizers

Responsibilities for clubs and events

Running clubs and event organizers play a central role in the Trybe community. With that comes responsibility to represent your community honestly and to look after the runners who show up.

Required from organizers
Accurate descriptions of pace, distance, and format
Timely updates when runs change or cancel
Safe, appropriate routes and meeting points
A welcoming environment for all registered runners
Not allowed for organizers
Misrepresenting pace, distance, or event details
Charging fees not disclosed in the listing
Using Trybe to recruit for commercial ventures
Listing clubs or events that don't actually run
04 — Content

What you can and can't post

Trybe is a running platform, not a general social network. Content should be relevant to running, clubs, events, or the running community. We don't host general social content, political content, or anything unrelated to the core purpose of the platform.

Reviews and ratings should be honest and based on genuine experience. Fake reviews, review manipulation, or using reviews to settle personal disputes are all violations of these guidelines.

05 — Enforcement

How we handle violations

We take reports seriously and review each one. Our response depends on the nature and severity of the issue.

1
Warning
For first-time or minor violations, we'll reach out directly and explain what needs to change. Most issues are resolved at this stage.
2
Content removal
Content that violates these guidelines will be removed. For club or event listings, this may mean temporary suspension from the directory.
3
Account suspension
Repeated violations or serious breaches — including harassment, threats, or dangerous behaviour — will result in account suspension.
4
Permanent removal
In cases of serious harm, illegal activity, or repeated severe violations, accounts may be permanently removed with no right to appeal.
06 — Reporting

Seen something that's not right?

If you encounter behaviour, content, or a listing that violates these guidelines, please report it. We can't address issues we don't know about, and every report makes the community better for everyone.

Reports can be made through the platform or by emailing hello@trybe.run. We treat all reports confidentially. You will never be identified to the person you're reporting.

Report a violation

If something doesn't feel right, tell us. We review every report.
